These cables can be used to install internal USB devices or
connect up front panel USB ports in situations where
there is no free motherboard USB pin header available.
The cables allow a USB device with a 4/5 pin connector
to be connected to a standard USB A socket. These sockets
are often available on USB PCI cards. Almost all motherboards
also have at least 2 USB A sockets at the rear.
The cables are USB 2.0 and 60cm long.
One end of the cable has a 1x5 way device connector which plugs
onto the pins on your USB device.
The other end of the cable has a standard USB A plug which can
be plugged into any free USB socket.
The cables come with a 1x5 way female to male pin adaptor that
converts the device connector into male (pin) termination.
Two of these cables can be used to install USB units with 8/9/10
pin connectors. With the pin adaptors fitted two cables replicate
a 10 pin motherboard USB header.
The cables are supplied with a configuration that is suitable for
most devices. They are easily modified if your equipment uses
an unusual pin configuration. See support site on the left for
information on re-configuring the cables.
